Infinity the game is a sci-fi skirmish combat game with a unique and complex ruleset. A plus to the game is that not many miniatures are required but dense terrain is a must. Each player takes turns, but the unique mechanic in Infinity is that they also play in each other's turns - reacting to actions they do in sight of their own troops.
This play style (once a player manages to get the handle on the rules) has a cinematic feeling to it as the battle unfold. Most actions against another model are done with a 'face-to-face' roll. Whoever rolls highest gets the more favourable result. And example of this is, if a model pops up to snap a shot off at a model, if that model is looking, he gets a chance to 'face off'. Whoever wins, gets the shot off, causing the other to duck away (or worse!).
Another fun element to the game is hacking - opening or locking doors, stealing data in certain missions, disabling enemy mecha and more. With many other complex rules like climbing, jumping, stealthed (or even invisibile) units, suppressive fire, going prone and lots of different gadgets, the game offers a lot of strategic options.
New units and rules are constantly being released and Corvus Belli offer all the infinity rules free to download.
